Sheriff Jax Turner, Elena, Madeline, Steven, Daniel, Allison,
Emily, old memories, old cases, new deputies on Sheriff Turner’s team, old
friendships rekindled, Abby, Trudy. Talk about some characters with
intertwining stories!
I was trying to figure out the whodunnit in this tale, with the
current case intersecting with an old case, and I thought I had. Then, I wasn’t
so sure, but then I was sure again. This is the kind of story I enjoy reading.
I like the fact that Jax was full of self-doubt, personally and professionally;
it makes him more “real.” I enjoyed reading about the ins and outs of getting
to the answer Sheriff Turner went through, the people he encountered, the
secrets they all were keeping. Plus, the extra twist that was thrown in -
totally unexpected.
If you enjoy a fast-paced tale that will keep you turning pages to
find out what happens next, with a few underlying stories intermixed, then I
recommend you give this one a shot. I would not hesitate to read another book
by this author. I am also looking forward to more Jax Turner adventures. I am
quite certain that even in a small town like Misty Pines, some sinister is
lurking to be uncovered.
